I am researching my Bowers, but can not get past 1930 Waxahachie, Ellis, TX. I have more info but can not find anything in the records. So far none of the messages I have read match my family. I believe my Bowers came from England but so far I have not found anything. There just is not much out on Bowers. The story I was told is as follows:
I am not sure which generation this is in. Bowers was raised in or around Boston. His father died leaving a number of children and a wife. There were 3 set of twins in the family. My Bowers did not like the man his mother was going to marry so he left home. Worked as a cabin boy in the ships in and out of Boston. He would go home, hide in a large barn across from the house and there he would stay until he saw each family member. At some point he traveled to Texas. Here he married, had children and told his Texas family they were never to get in touch with his Boston family and they never did. He never gave any reasons.
